Ride for Riverview is a fundraising event which benefits the Jane H. and
John Marshall Booker Cancer Center at Riverview Medical Center and is
held in conjunction with one of the oldest continuous equestrian events
in the nation, the Monmouth County Horse Show. The Ride for Riverview
Committee, chaired by Carol Stillwell of Holmdel, has raised more than
$600,000 for the Booker Cancer Center since its inception in 1998.
“When my father experienced a fight with cancer, I vowed to do something
in my own community to give back,” says Carol Stillwell. “I was so
impressed with the incredible cancer resources at Riverview Medical
Center, and I saw an opportunity to blend my desire to help with my love
of animals.”
As an avid rider, Stillwell reached out to people involved with the
Monmouth County Horse Show. From there, the Ride for Riverview was born.
“I am blessed to work with a fantastic committee who has embraced the
cancer center and seen the good work that is done there,” notes
Stillwell. “I truly appreciate the Monmouth County Horse Show for
allowing us to use their venue to raise money solely for the Booker
Cancer Center at Riverview. It’s a testament to the team effort.”

Monmouth County Horse Show Inception

Ride for Riverview is so grateful for the continued support of Olympic
veteran and top sponsor, Carol Thompson. Thompson owns Quiet Winter Farm in
Colts Neck, NJ and has been a long-standing supporter of the Monmouth County
Horse Show and has sponsored the Junior/Amateur Owner Jumper Classic at Ride
for Riverview for the past several years. Thompson has been an integral part
of the show for years, as she is pictured here competing at the 1996
Monmouth County Horse Show.
